Creationist zombies
No matter how hard you try to convince them they're wrong, they just keep coming back:
The bill's sponsor, Sen. Chris Buttars, R-West Jordan, had said it was time to rein in teachers who were teaching that man had descended from apes, and rattling the faith of students. The Senate passed the measure 16-12.There's a frame for you: rein in renegade teachers who are rattling faith! So it died in the Utah house, but this will keep coming back again and again, like a zombie:
Buttars said he doesn't believe the defeat means that most House members think Darwin's theory of evolution is correct.Well, let's say that if they truly were teaching that grandfathers in Utah were apes...that'd be wrong. For now the zombies are recouperating, but they'll be back!
"Absolutely not. It means the vote was wrong in my opinion," Buttars said. "I don't believe that anybody in there really wants their kids to be taught that their great-grandfather was an ape."
