Imagine...

Imagine a group of people committed to convincing hospitals and health-care consumers that buying newer diagnostic equipment will cost so much money now that they won't be able to buy better equipment 10 years from now when the really good diagnostic equipment will be available. Besides, these newer machines will only help diagnose diseases 1% more diseases while maybe, just maybe, those available in the future will help diagnose more than that. And people have been mis-daignosed for many years, so who's to say this new technology will save lives? Moreover, people would die because they couldn't pay the additional health-care costs required to pay for these new machines. This group of people then turns around and lobbies congress to make it more difficult to purchase this equipment and then pressure other countries to not allow newer technology to enter their marketplace.

Imagine our outrage at their audacity, then read this.
