Inhofe?
Al Gore gives hours worth of testimony to the House and Senate today describing the problem of global warming in detail, proposing policy solutions that will help our economy, and answering numerous questions honestly and fairly and all the wingnutosphere has to throw back at him is the rhetorical equivalent of a handful of poop by James Inhofe.
Here's the video:
Gore, a man who runs two businesses out of his home, has a security detail which requires lights and alarm systems turned on, and can't install solar and other distributed generation technologies on his property because he lives in Tennessee where there are no net-metering laws--a topic he spoke about at length today--begins to respond by saying he buys electricity from renewable sources and then...the video fades. Why? Because he alone has done more to convince us to band together to get the job done than they could to placate us into inaction, and they're afraid of that message. Here's one lone man who uses merely 10 - 20 times more electricity than the "average consumer" to get 350 million people to reshape the way we think about energy. Not a bad deal if you compare that to countless think-tanks, lobyists and politicians who desparately try to convince us otherwise.
If a simple appearance by Al Gore on Capitol Hill can show how wankers don't have an attention span long enough to figure out the difference between "alarmism" and realistic solutions, maybe he really should run for President!
