Distributed generation can solve all the world's problems!
Well yeah, I'm exaggerating. But this is good news [full disclosure: I own this stock]:
As we have previously stated, Capstone microturbines are a perfect solution to reliably power oil and gas producing operations using natural gas or unprocessed wellhead gas to generate continuous power. Capstone solutions require little maintenance and avoid fuel transport and disposal of hazardous lubricants. This sort of technology really ought to be deployed in any number of unstable regions, like Nigeria or Iraq. What we've told the Iraqis is to defend thousands of miles of natural gas pipelines, a large central processing facility where the gas gets treated and burned, thousands of miles of electricity cables, the wellhead, and a pipeline for the crude from attack against their oil infrastructure. Wouldn't it be easier to just plop a couple of microturbines on the wellhead and only have them defend that and the pipeline to get their oil to market?
