Oh now I get it: apple v. orange

This is so incredibly stupid, I can't believe it's on a government-sponsored web page.

If you add up all the money ever spent anywhere in the world researching the physics, chemistry, ecology, archeology, engineering, economics, computer science, public health etc., etc., etc., that ever had any implications relevant to climate change, plus all the money spent finding engineering and diplomatic solutions to curb carbon emissions; that money dwarfs the amount spent by the oil industry on think tank misinformation campaigns here in the US. Therefore the Newsweek article is completely lacking balance and is part of a broad left-wing conspiracy to silence the scientitst who are now all in agreement that global warming ended in 1998. Riiiight. Pass the tin foil.
