First, "Now" just had a very informative show on about municipal broadband wi-fi. Watching the guy from Cato, it appeared difficult even for him to argue that this is an example of "gub-mint" waste. I'd venture a guess that this is probably the cheapest urban-renewal project in modern histroy: what, set up a few antennas and get a whole bunch of economic activity in devastated inner-city neighborhoods? That's not a good way to spend public funds?
