Our tax dollars hard at work...

...trying to unteach science in Harrisburg:

"Section 1516.2. Teaching Theories on the Origin of Man and
Earth.--(a) In any public school instruction concerning the
theories of the origin of man and the earth which includes the
theory commonly known as evolution, a board of school directors
may include, as a portion of such instruction, the theory of
intelligent design. Upon approval of the board of school
directors, any teacher may use supporting evidence deemed
necessary for instruction on the theory of intelligent design.
(b) When providing supporting evidence on the theory of
intelligent design, no teacher in a public school may stress any
particular denominational, sectarian or religious belief."


other amendments currently being considered are:

"Section 1516.3. Teaching Theories on Climate Change.
(a) In any public school instruction concerning the
theories of metereology which includes the theory commonly
known as global climate change, a board of school directors
may include, as a portion of such instruction, wording describing
climate change as a debunked myth. Upon approval of the board of school
directors, any teacher may use supporting evidence deemed
necessary for instruction on debunking the myth of global climate change.
(b) When providing supporting evidence on debunking the myth
of climate change, no teacher in a public school may stress any
particular think tank, or specific corporate interest."


and:

"Section 1516.4. Teaching Theories on wetlands ecosystems
(a) In any public school instruction concerning the
theories of wetland ecosystems which includes the
theory commonly known as healthy riparian habitat, a board of
school directors may include, as a portion of such instruction, the safe
practice of hollow fills. Upon approval of the board of school
directors, any teacher may use supporting evidence deemed
necessary for instruction on how to classify vibrant streams as gullies
or "dry branches."
(b) When providing supporting evidence on the beneficial effects of
mountaintop mining on water quality, no teacher in a public school
may stress any particular think tank, or specific corporate interest."
