Remember this piece of editorial excre excellence? I believe it's now time to characterize a new syndrome in US politics,

The Plame Scandal OCD.

At the mere mention of a Democrat, hoardes of conservative politicians and pundits--flip flops firmly planted on their feet during this hot post-election summer--go into repetitive Bart Simpsonesque "didn't do it, no one saw him do it, can't prove anything" mode by performing the rhetorical equivalent of grabbing for the bar of soap and turning on the faucet:

"Bush has been consistent all along, Rove didn't want to talk about it and never mentioned her name, Plame wasn't undercover."

Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
