Stories From The Fam: Did I tell you about the time…

Preamble:

Are you tired of scientific and political commentary? In an effort to fulfill my New Year’s resolution, I have decided to follow through with a discussion I had with Matt at Tattered Coat approximately 5000 years ago.

In this new Coeruleus series I will follow my family tradition of story telling. I am half Sicilian, which brings about most of this tradition, but rest assured my father is “Italian by association” (a German married to an Italian for 30+ years) and he is as guilty as the rest of us.

All of the stories to be told are absolutely true, regardless of how ridiculous they sound. The only lapse in honesty that is accepted is the case where something actually happened to someone else (e.g. your mother), but it makes the story sound better if you pretend that it happened to you.

These stories are ALWAYS told repeatedly! So don’t even try to call me on it if I have accidentally tell you again. You can take it as an opportunity to point out corrections, but in general you are not supposed to admit that you heard it before. Well, not unless it is like the 20th time you have heard the story. Also, self deprecation is par for the course.

These stories usually go over really well when told verbally, and I have no idea if I will be able to write them in a way that is interesting (i.e. lacking Italian intonation and gesticulation). So, give me feedback.
