Hinderacker, of course, loves children's books at least as much as he loves Mohammed cartoons. His take on the book:

It's that kinder, gentler conservatism we've all grown to love from the rocket man. Maybe he'd like it even better if the elephant were to crush the UN or the ACLU. The elephant of surmise. Further John:

I think the short explanation of why the Mommy squirrel is a Democrat is that there isn't any Daddy squirrel.

Daddy squirrel is probably involved in a catnip-trafficking gang or he might be a baby-squirrel abortionist who's opposed to the war on turtles. Or he's working his third job to make ends meet because with health and retirement benefits dwindling, the acorns he burried last fall won't last his family through the winter like they used to. My question is how do dogs feel about this?
