Fristing ANWR

If President Clinton had not vetoed ANWR legislation a decade ago, it would be producing 1 million barrels of oil a day right now. That’s about three-fourths of what we currently import from Saudi Arabia.
--Frist!
1 million barrels is about 5% of the US daily crude oil consumption, so that'd save about 15 cents per gallon if we assume there's a linear price relationship. Granted, it's better than nothing, but when it comes down to it,
Such production would have a real impact on prices...
that statement is bullshit. Compared to driving a car which is 3 or more times more fuel efficient than your average pickup or SUV, 15 cents per gallon is a drop in the barrel.
