He's had his media-frenzy, but now McCain will likely downplay his position on global warming for a while, only to roll it back out if it's clear he's the frontrunner or at the latest if he's nominated. In his calculations, that'll happen shortly after the IPCC report comes out later this year. At that time he can begin to introduce the concept that it'll soon be all the Chinese' fault our climate is changing and while we certainly should live up to our obligations for some of the climate change that's happened so far, we need to stand strong against those polluters overseas. Once that happens, we'll likely see folks like the ankle biting pundits change their tune and state that the Democrats are weak on global climate change because they're not going to stand up against the Chinese like Republicans will.
