Gore is kicking ass
There's too much to summarize it all in one blog post, but Gore's testimony before the House committee is going stunningly well. Senate testimony is next. Some highlights:
Dennis Hastert agrees that man-made climate change is real!!!!!!
When asked on these issues, Gore's replies were:
Nuclear. Problem is, they come in only one size: big and expensive. Otherwise there's no problem in including them in the overall energy profile.
China's reliance on coal. It's a problem, but that's the way international treaties work: it's expected that developed economies come up with the solutions first and then sell them to developing countries. Basically, if you can come up with a better way of getting China on course, be my guest.
Asked about his warnings 10 years ago and why we haven't seen Greenland melt yet. Replies he doesn't recall saying that 10 years ago, only said it in his movie recently. And yes, Greenland has melted in the past and very well could in the future.
Overall a cordial meeting; nowhere near the hyped controversy we were promised by Drudge, Fox, etc.
