Neuroanatomist's anthem

Sung to the tune of Jimmy Cliff's Many Rivers to Cross:

Many slices to mount
But I can't seem to find my injection site
Wondering if I've lost
The VLPO

Many slices to mount
And it's only my will that keeps me awake
These brains have been in the cold room for years
And I merely didn't slice them because of my pride

And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's such a drag to be mounting on my own
My immuno didn't work and there's no reason why
Well, I guess I'll have to cry

Many slices to mount
But just where to begin: the caudal or rostral end?
There have been times I find myself
Thinking of just discarding that mangled slice

Yes, I've got many slices to mount
But I can't seem to find my injection site
Wondering, if I've lost
The VLPO

Yes, I've got many slices to mount
And I merely survive because of my will...
