Today in anti-hysteria hype
William Gray sez Al Gore is teh suck:
A top hurricane forecaster called Al Gore "a gross alarmist" Friday for making an Oscar-winning documentary about global warming.Oh no!!!! We've all been pwned by the Algore. Sea levels will never ever ever rise more than 20 inches. It's all such a media-frenzy. Don't believe that hype. Believe my hype:
Rather than global warming, Gray believes a recent uptick in strong hurricanes is part of a multi-decade trend of alternating busy and slow periods related to ocean circulation patterns. Contrary to mainstream thinking, Gray believes ocean temperatures are going to drop in the next five to 10 years.
Thankfully people like William Gray, who is never wrong, are around to remind us how foolish we are in believing the hype...
In its first outlook for 2006, the project team expects 17 named tropical storms in the June-through-November season. ...Uhm. Yeah.
The team, led by scientist Philip Klotzbach and professor William Gray, predicts nine storms next year [2006] will become hurricanes, five of them major, with at least Category 3 intensity (winds 111 mph or more).
The 2006 Atlantic hurricane season was an event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclone formation. This season was unusual in that no hurricanes made landfall in the United States of America.
