Not many of us would want the federal government to leave military procurement to defense contractors, Medicare reimbursement to doctors or banking regulation to Citigroup. But President Barack Obama says when it comes to allocating federal funds for scientific studies, we should defer to scientists.

Having recently been inducted into the secretive cabal of "scientists" who want to have us believe they perform a ritual called "peer review"...I suppose I shouldn't reveal that their true intentions are redistributin' billions of your hard earned tax dollars amongst themselves. OK, so I said it. Just don't tell anyone else. I think "they" said it was a secret. Right before they mentioned something about concrete shoes.
