Oh, Atlanta

And then? Tom asks some questions no one in the media seems willing to ask...
And then what exactly can we expect? If the southeastern drought is already off the charts in Georgia, then, whether it's 80 days or 800 days, isn't there a possibility that Atlanta may one day in the not-so-distant future be without water? And what then?
Regardless of whether or not it'll rain just barely enough to keep Atlanta going for another year, this is an ominous sign. It's ironic that the city epitomized by strip-mall laced highways connecting endless godforsaken subdivisions is one of the first to experience a possible outcome of climate change. We've been told time and again by the think tanks that those places doing the least to curb greenhouse gas emissions will be those most likely to have the funding available to adapt to climate change scenarios.
