Flat Earther's are lovin' it!

Here's an example of exactly the kind of dumbing down of society that I've posted on numerous times before, and also here. It's people and groups like this that want nothing more than a complacent, slightly dumb population to which they can feed their myth that global warming isn't happening. Ridenour links to a "survey" found on the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine website--I've lived in Oregon for most of the past 20 years and have honestly never heard anything about these folks besides their so-called "survey." But I digress. Here's a quote from the survey I find particularly amusing:

"During the past 2 years, more than 17,100 basic and applied American scientists, two-thirds with advanced degrees, have signed the Global Warming Petition."

Does that mean that 1/3 of the ssigners are highschool dropouts? No wonder! Signing a petition that states "there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth." might make it a wee bit difficult to convince someone you can understand scientific concepts, much less make it as a graduate student.
